Zion Siton, Alex Owen, Ashrakur Rahman, Michal Chmielewski and Andrew Braid – this year’s Londonmet team at the Brains Eden 48 hour Gamejam at Anglia Ruskin University, July 2014. The team developed “Scramble”, writing their own physics engine in Actionscript.

This year’s summer show will take place on 5/6 June 2014, in the Graduate Centre and Blue Met Lounge on Holloway Road.

We’ll finish with a flourish this year – our CLOSING PARTY is from 5-8pm on 6th June.

There is a Faculty Employer Network and Enterprise Day event taking place on the closing day on 6th June 10 am – 4:30 pm at the same venue. Registration on (industry14.eventbrite.com) is essential.

Brains Eden Gamejam 2013

Londonmet team hit the Brains Eden Gamejam on 28th June, ready for 48 hours of designing and developing in Cambridge. This year’s team was Max Morris, Marcus Oldfield, Alex Owen, Fergus Murphy and Harry Corke.

The theme was “mountains” and their game was “Dwarficide”, link to follow…

3D Printing and laser cutting

Metropolitan Works – new links with our digital manufacturing centre, based at Commercial Road.

First attempts at 3D printing from second year BSc Computer Games Modelling and Design students working on their Digital Toy Design module – planes and lollipop trees from Mo, van bodywork from Amir. Fergus did some laser cutting (below). These will all soon be transformed into digital toys.

XX GameJam 2012

The first XX GameJam, in association with Ada Lovelace Day and London Games Festival, took place in Mind Candy offices on Oct 26 and 27, 2012, sponsored by UKIE. The theme was “Clockwork”.

Second year Games Programming student Nikki Gordon’s team came second with “The Dastardly Carillon” developed in Unity … Nikki created all the sound effects using Reason.

Fiona French mentored one of the other teams, helping to develop “Tick Tock Terror”.
